About Us

Welcome to County Downs. This well established neighborhood has been around since 1975 and remains the hidden jewel of Montgomery. County Downs is a quiet neighborhood in the heart of Montgomery. With its 355 custom built homes, it is still one of the most sought after neighborhoods in Montgomery. It is centrally located and provides convenience within easy reach to shopping, churches, schools, and Maxwell and Gunter bases. Homes range in size from 2,000 square feet up to 5,000 square feet. The atmosphere of the neighborhood is very laid back and tucked away off Atlanta Highway.

County Downs features sidewalks throughout for walking and running. We also have a lighted gazebo in the central round-about area for neighborhood use.

Security Measures

County Downs Neighborhood is protected by surveillance cameras at the entrance and is regularly patrolled by the Montgomery Police Department. We have a well lighted entrance with street lamps throughout the neighborhood. We also encourage our residents to report suspicious activities to the police. We also encourage our residents to participate in the city sponsored STAR Watch program where residents can register their home security cameras so police, fire, and public safety professionals to better assess and rapidly respond to criminal activity and emergency situations.

Resident Services

City sanitation crews collect garbage in County Downs on Tuesdays and Fridays. Roll-out containers should be placed curbside no later than 7 a.m. on the day of service and removed no later than 7 p.m. that same day. Curbside trash/landscape rubbish pick-up is on Wednesday. The trash should be placed behind the curb and not on the street.

Montgomery Sanitation customers may utilize the Saturday trash drop-off location at Goodwyn Middle School (209 Perry Hill Rd) on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month. NEW HOURS OF OPERATION: 7am – 1:30pm
